The Quarry Course: Legendary Sportswriter, Dan Jenkins, called Quarry holes #13-#17 “The 5 Best Consecutive Holes of Golf in the World.” Golfweek ranked The Quarry in the Top 5 Best Private Golf Courses in Florida in the 2019 edition of The Ultimate Guide. The Quarry was designed by the legendary golf course architect Tom Fazio and many believe that The Quarry is some of his best work. The Quarry is unlike any other golf course in Florida, thanks to the steep drop offs and rolling hills of the beautiful Citrus County.
The Quarry Course has 13 outstanding golf holes and 5 incredible ones. As golfers begin their round at The Quarry, they cannot help but get lost in the beautiful elements of nature and detail that are in every aspect of the course. With that said, every golfer that has the opportunity to play this golf course has holes 13-17 on their mind. Holes 13 through 17 play across and around the rims of two canyons up to 80 feet deep, and may well be the most spectacular holes of golf this side of Pebble Beach. Included in this five-hole odyssey are two dramatic drop-shot par-threes, two awesome par-fours and one great risk-reward par-five which yields eagles and birdies, as well as double and triple bogeys. On a cool morning, the 368 yard, par-four 15th hole is truly a slice of heaven. The Quarry is unlike any golf course in the state of Florida.
The Ranch Course: The Ranch Course at Black Diamond Ranch is a little more natural and a little less manicured. The fairways are framed by hammocks of oaks, tawny colored sand, and dotted by native vegetation. It does not so much occupy the land, as meld into it – a bit like Pine Valley, but more forgiving. In fact, the Ranch may very well be the Members’ favorite. Tom Fazio has said that the Ranch’s 16th, 17th and 18th holes represent the three best finishing holes he has ever designed. That is high praise coming from someone with his standard of work. This 3 hole stretch will test any golfer’s abilities with its doglegs, length, and elevation changes. The Highlands Course: The picturesque Tom Fazio design 9-hole Highlands Course stands proudly alongside its counterparts, the Quarry and Ranch Courses, offering a golfing experience that is every bit as captivating and rewarding. The Highlands Course can be played in tandem with the front-9 of either The Quarry or The Ranch courses, providing a dynamic golfing adventure. With its own distinct personality and charm, the Highlands Course challenges players to navigate its fairways and correctly position themselves for the 2nd shot. Due to the interesting open design of the front of the greens, the golfers who are skilled with the bump and run shot typically succeed. The Highlands Course was built with the same beauty as the other Black Diamond Ranch courses, ensuring a harmonious blend of aesthetics and challenges.
