Pumpkin Ridge Golf Club (Portland, OR)

Jul 16 - Jul 19, 2025

This annual tradition has become a member favorite. Three rounds of competition preceded by a practice round with no shortage of food, drinks, cigars, contests, gambling, prizes and good times. Hosted by Pumpkin Ridge Golf Club in Portland, OR. COTERIE (co·te·rie) A small group of people with shared interests or tastes, especially one that is exclusive of other people. Kent Fisher and Mike Hubbard will make a strong run to try and defend their title from last year's event at Kingsmill Resort.

Pumpkin Ridge Golf Club

Considered among the nation’s best classic-style courses, Bob Cupp designed the par-72, 7,017-yard Witch Hollow course to blend harmoniously with its natural surroundings in the shadows of the Cascade Mountains. Woven through a tapestry of fir, maple, oak and ash trees with dramatic views of the Tualatin Hills, the course’s undulating fairways, wide manicured greens, numerous wetland areas and variety of ponds, lakes and streams add to the layout’s mystical allure and beauty. Pumpkin Ridge Golf Club’s par-71, 6,839-yard Ghost Creek layout was crafted by Bob Cupp in the “old” style, leaving the Portland wetlands terrain completely natural. This Portland public golf course is subtle and cunning, featuring a variety of distinct and equally memorable holes framed by lush stands of trees, dramatic mountain vistas and ragged wetlands. The phantom Ghost Creek materializes throughout the golf course, adding to the layout’s stunning beauty.

Format & Rules

  • 54 holes of tournament play
  • Two-person teams
  • GHIN handicaps or unofficial handicaps approved by Jeff Goodsell and the golf staff of Pumpkin Ridge will be used for scoring purposes
  • Scoring during the three rounds of tournament play will be done using a team Stableford (quota system). There will be a 50% quota adjustment (up or down) for each contestant after the first and second days of the competition. The combined +/- of the team’s total points in relation to the overall team quota will determine the standings after 54 holes of play. Points will be allotted on each hole using the following scoring system (gross scores):
    • Albatross: 8 points
    • Eagle: 6 points
    • Birdie: 4 points
    • Par: 2 points
    • Bogey: 1 point
    • Double Bogey or worse: 0 points
  • After the 54 holes of tournament play, there will be a “true” alternate-shot shootout to determine the overall champions (the top 8 teams will qualify for the shootout). Any ties will be broken via chip-off, abiding by a strict alternate shot format. Should the two remaining teams tie the final hole of the shootout, the hole will be replayed until we have a champion.
  • CLUB LIMIT – 14 club rule is in effect
  • MUSIC – Music-playing devices are allowed at Pumpkin
  • TEES – All participants will play from the Blue tees
  • TIES – Ties will be broken by the USGA recommended method of matching the scorecards from the most recent round. The Committee will compare the last nine holes if still tied; compare the last six holes, the last three holes, and finally the 18th hole. If the teams in question are still tied after going through this procedure, the tie will be broken using the second most recent score
  • RAIN – In the event of rain, the Committee may declare play null and void and cancel all scores for the round in question. A minimum of 18 holes will constitute a Tournament
  • HANDICAPS – The Committee reserves the right to set and adjust the handicaps of all Tournament participants for the purposes of Tournament Awards. All decisions of the Committee shall be final for the purposes of the Tournament
  • TEE TIMES & PAIRINGS – Thursday and Friday will have a shotgun start at 10:00 AM. Saturday will shotgun at 8:30 AM. Pairings for round one will be done at random. Pairings for rounds 2 and 3 will be done in order of standings with the leaders going off of hole 1.
